My story:

Since I was five years old, I have loved cooking.

My earliest memory is standing on a small wooden chair in my grandmother’s kitchen, just high enough to reach the table. The room always smelled of warm bread, fresh herbs, and something sweet baking in the oven. While other children were playing with toys, I was playing with flour. I would dip my hands into a bowl of dough, fascinated by how something so sticky and shapeless could turn into a beautiful loaf of bread.

At first, my tasks were simple. I washed vegetables, stirred soup carefully, and shaped small cookies that were never perfectly round. My grandmother never corrected their shape. She would smile and say, “Good, little dude” Those words stayed with me.

As I grew older, cooking became more than just a hobby. It became my language. When I felt happy, I baked cakes layered with bright fruit and cream. When I felt stressed, I chopped vegetables slowly and rhythmically, letting the steady sound of the knife calm my thoughts. When someone I loved was sad, I cooked their favorite meal. I discovered that food could comfort people in ways that words sometimes could not.

By the time I was a teenager, I was experimenting with flavors. I mixed sweet with spicy, sour with salty. Some dishes were disasters—burned edges, too much salt, undercooked centers—but each mistake taught me something valuable. Cooking showed me patience. It taught me that timing matters, that small details can change everything, and that even failures can become lessons.

Today, whenever I step into a kitchen, I feel the same excitement I felt as a five-year-old child standing on that chair. The kitchen is still my favorite place in the world. It is where creativity meets tradition, where memories are created, and where simple ingredients transform into something magical.
